In Chhapaak first track Nok Jhok, we saw a sweet brewing romance between Deepika Padukone’s character Malti and Vikrant Massey’s character. The romantic track of the film touched our heart and their sweet chemistry melted our and made us forget about the sad and tragic incident that Malti went through. After a romantic number, the makers have now decided to release the hard-hitting title song, Chhapaak which tells us from where this is all started. A splash of acid and a scar that changed Malti’s life forever. This soulful track is crooned by the melodious singer Arijit Singh. His baritone voice will make you realize the seriousness of the song and tell what Malti had to go through after the acid was splashed on her face.

The music of the track is composed by Shankar Eshaan Loy and the lyrics are penned down by Gulzar. While sharing the picture of Deepika Padukone who is seen in pain and distressed, the director Meghna Gulzar captioned the picture as, “In a moment.In a splash. Talking about the film, Chhapaak is based on the real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and through her story, the film makes an attempt to understand the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack in India. Deepika plays Malti in the film, who was attacked with acid on a street in New Delhi, in 2005. Chhapaak is set to hit theatres on 10th January 2020.
